Mechanical Spin-Open Gift Box
I designed this mechanical gift box for Christmas, and it opens in a surprising way. Instead of lifting a lid, you need to spin it in the right motion. It has been very interesting watching my middle school students try to work it out.
The parts are designed to be assembled with friction, but depending on your printer’s accuracy and the material you use, you may need a small amount of glue to secure some pieces. It is a simple print, and it works well for storing small items.
