Sensory Bolt Action Pen – Pilot G2 Compatible

I designed this 3D printable bolt action pen for my students, as many of them benefit from having a small sensory fidget tool in the classroom. The pen is designed to work with a Pilot G2 refill, using the original refill and spring. All other main components are designed to be 3D printed.

The pen features a satisfying bolt action mechanism with a rounded thumb button, making it fun to click and easy to operate with one hand. It works both as a practical writing tool and as a small sensory/fidget object for focus and regulation.

One of the main features of this design is the set of interchangeable sensory fidget rings. These rings slide onto the pen body and can be mixed, matched, and reordered to create different tactile combinations. Each ring has a different surface texture, allowing the user to roll, rub, grip, or spin the rings while writing, listening, or focusing.

This makes the pen useful as a classroom focus tool, desk accessory, fidget object, or personalised gift.

Important Assembly Note

When assembling the pen, make sure the shorter end of the slider faces the refill (as shown in the image below). If the slider is installed the wrong way around, the bolt action mechanism will not work properly.
