Useless Fabric – Mark 1

I have been exploring print-in-place fabric structures for 3D printing, and this piece is one of the early prototypes from that process. It is not refined in any technical sense, but the structure looks surprisingly cool and has a nice tactile feel.

I am not entirely sure what it could be used for, so feel free to share any ideas in the comments. It does work quite well as a fidget toy, as my middle school students enjoyed playing with it. They really liked the texture and the flexible movement.

I am continuing to explore other fabric structures, and I will keep updating as I go.
